I have recently subscribed to a House and Home magazine that's been filled with tips for Spring Cleaning. As a result, I've started rearranging things in my place, in the quest for a New Me through a New, Organised Home for this Spring.
What I've achieved so far:
- Arranged all my books by colour of the spine in a rainbow. I had to throw out all the books with covers that didn't fall into the ROYGBIV categories, particularly the pink and brown ones because they offended me.
- Arranged my spices in order of increasing particle sizes. So I have garlic powder down one end, and garlic granules down the other. It's extremely satisfying.
- Decanted all of my shampoo and conditioner into separate bottles, because apparently this makes them ~classier~. All this has achieved has me being unable to tell them apart, so sometimes I end up with super smooth hair in the morning instead of clean hair because it's bad to follow up conditioner with shampoo.
- Turned my shoes upside down for better storage.
- Stacked items sideways in the pantry instead of vertically. I like to think about the compaction of my food items over time as I pull out the packet of pasta from the bottom of the pile. However, this has saved significant space and now I have space for my daily collection of jagabee.
I have at least 10 more things I want to tackle, I'm feeling so refreshed and organised. Highly recommend. A+
